In the Community: Looking Back at 2020
IC System’s purpose statement is “Making Collections Better.” This simple statement guides every decision our leaders make and influences every interaction we have with consumers, our clients, and our industry. It also means we strive to improve the lives of people in our community.
Our annual In the Community PDF booklet for 2020 showcases how IC System supports our local neighborhoods. The booklet details how our employees serve on volunteer boards, organize food drives, raise funds, donate their time, and generally give back to their community.
2020 marked a challenging year for community involvement, given safety concerns related to the pandemic. After moving to a remote working environment, with only one-tenth of our staff working at our headquarters, IC System had to solve a unique problem: How do you support the community or volunteer while maintaining safe social-distancing guidelines?
IC System adopted the internal badge “Apart, Working Together” in 2020 and 2021 to reflect how we are all part of one company, even if we remain distanced. With that in mind, we found creative ways to give back to our community through monthly donations and charitable giving.
In this booklet, you will see highlights of IC System employees investing their time and talents in our communities. We know this work makes our employees proud of IC System and demonstrates to our community that we are so much more than a collection agency.
Even though many of the community events were remote in 2020, IC System made incredible contributions, raising over $41,000 and logging 540 volunteer hours.
“One of the most important things we can do as a member of this community during this time of uncertainty is give to those who need it,” said John Erickson, Jr., President and CEO of IC System. “Our company has been around since 1938, and we have weathered a lot of storms. Afterward, there is always a need to help rebuild. That’s what being part of a community is all about.”
